Some listen to music, others prefer to read. Some wait for friends, while others do impersonations. Some make small talk, while others look away - avoiding eye contact with those making small talk.

There are many ways to past time at the bus stop. Thanks to Twitter user Redux, we know one more AC Transit favorite pastime to past time: Dancing.

All middle school and high school students in the AC Transit Service Area are eligible to take AC Transit's "Going Places, Making Choices" quiz. Only one entry per student allowed.

Winners will be drawn at random from all qualifying entries and will receive a FREE 31-day bus pass. Winners will be announced after the winter holiday break.

Transbay Taskforce: Rise and Fall of the Key System

Marcus Garvey once said, "A people without knowledge of its past is like a tree without roots."

Well, AC Transit's roots run deep in the Bay Area.

And keeping with the historical theme of the October Transbay Taskforce meeting, special guest Will Spargur with the Transbay Joint Powers Authority will trace the history of AC Transit's predecessor, the Key System. He will lead a discussion on its heydey and its demise, including a discussion of the imprint it left on AC Transit today.

Join us for another fascinating Transbay Taskforce meeting Tuesday, November 10 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. in San Francisco. Last month, Heather Price, an archeologist working with the Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA), and Joyce Oishi, with the Transbay Program Management team, shared a historic archaelogical presentation relating to the Transbay Terminal Project.

The AC Transit Transbay Taskforce meets on the second Tuesday of every month in downtown San Francisco at 245 Market Street (at Beale)* from Noon to 1:00pm. All Transbay riders are invited to attend.

It's your opportunity to hear firsthand what's in the works at AC Transit and to offer your perspective and suggestions about improving Transbay service.

Mark your calendars and watch for announcements at your bus stop in the Transbay Terminal. Better yet, sign up for AC Transit e-News and get notified by e-mail.

*245 Market St. is the PG&E building, and most meetings are held in the Conference Center in Room 1417. Occasionally, the room is changed, so watch for the meeting-specific announcement by following AC Transit on Twitter.
